Scheduled
Location: Los Angeles - LAX9-UPS1

Expected Outage: 30 minutes

Description:
This is a general notice for all customers located in our 9th floor (LAX9) datacenter. If you have services that are impacted by this maintenance window, you will receive a separate notification advising you of this. Dedicated servers will be mostly unaffected by this maintenance as these cabinets are fed by dual power feeds. Customers without redundant circuits located only on UPS1 will experience an interruption. The expected downtime associated with this is 30 minutes with a window of up to 4 hours.
The UPS battery backup designated as "UPS1" on the 9th floor (LAX9) datacenter is scheduled to be replaced with a new unit. To facilitate this upgrade, an external UPS bypass switch will be installed upstream of the UPS battery backup. We are required to perform a full load shutdown while our electrical engineers perform the upgrade, this will result in a power loss for circuits that are protected by "UPS1" for up to the entire maintenance window.

Due to the nature of the work that is being performed, all customer access to the LAX9 datacenter will be restricted until the maintenance has concluded. We understand that this may cause an interruption in your normal business operations, however as is the nature of mechanical devices, failures can occur. We have attempted to schedule the maintenance as far out of normal business hours as possible and provided as much advance notice as possible; however, we must expedite the upgrade of UPS1 to maintain maximum protection for our LAX9 datacenter.
The number of QuadraNet support engineers on shift will largely increase during the maintenance window to assist with any post-maintenance service restorations. Our support staff will be fully available during the maintenance by all our normal contact methods including telephone and ticket system.
Our network operations engineers will closely monitor the work and will do everything possible to minimize any inconvenience to you. If you have any problems with your connection after this time, or if you have any questions regarding the maintenance at any point, please contact our support department at support@quadranet.com or 1-888-5-QUADRA
We appreciate your understanding and patience during this maintenance and welcome all feedback.
Live updates will be posted to status.quadranet.com throughout the maintenance.
