EMERGENCY UPS MAINTENANCE - SERVICE IMPACTING
Location: 530 W 6th Street Los Angeles, CA 90014 Date: Saturday, September 3rd Start Time: 8:00AM PDT End Time: 2:00PM PDT Expected Outage: 6 hours
Risk: Critical load will be shut down to all downstream devices for the duration of this work.
Description: QuadraNet Critical power vendors during a routine preventative maintenance task has discovered a major fault with our LAX8-UPS2 system in the 8th floor datacenter pod. Currently this system is operating in static bypass and the vendors are not able to recover the unit. Due to this being one of QuadraNet's legacy UPS system(s), we will be replacing the unit with a new one. The existing unit does not have a separate maintenance bypass cabinet and in the course of replacing the unit, one will be installed. However, due to the lack of this functionality - all power will be disconnected from this unit for the duration of the maintenance.
QuadraNet recommends that all customers power off their equipment during this maintenance window to avoid any data corruption. We will place a 20 minute notice on http://status.quadranet.com before the electricians disconnect critical power to all downstream appliances.
Due to the nature of this incident - QuadraNet is not able to reschedule this work due to the risks associated with the load currently operating on unprotected static bypass.
